Avellino White Popelin Solid plain
Avellino White Popelin Solid Plain is a refined and naturally textured shirting fabric from ALUMO’s Avellino line—engineered to replicate the relaxed appearance of linen while maintaining the comfort, smoothness, and easy care of pure cotton. Woven in a Zephir construction, this fabric combines Ne 120/2 yarns in the warp with Ne 100/2 – 40/1 slub cotton in the weft. The use of slub yarns gives it a subtly irregular texture, with 52 yarns per centimetre in the warp and 33 in the weft, creating a breathable and lightweight structure.
The crisp white colour enhances the fabric’s casual elegance, making it ideal for warm-weather dressing, laid-back tailoring, or refined leisurewear. Its softly slubbed surface adds depth and character to an otherwise classic plain, offering a fresh alternative to more formal poplins. Whether styled buttoned-up or open-collar, this fabric delivers a relaxed sophistication rooted in ALUMO’s tradition of fine Swiss cotton weaving.
